Askham Village Community share how celebrating their diverse workforce supports their #PositiveWorkplaceCulture.
Askham Village Community is proud of the diversity across their workforce and regularly take time to celebrate the different cultures of their staff.
Recently they held their annual celebration of cultural differences, where they invite team members to share more about their cultures. This includes food, clothes, art and fun facts from different countries and cultures across the globe.
Thailand, France, Hawaii, Bulgaria, Italy and India were just some of the places which staff celebrated in the event.
The event was enjoyed widely by all team members, residents and even some members of the public who happened to be relaxing with coffee and cake in the Askham Café.
Reflecting on the opportunity to celebrate diversity across Askham, Mavrick Feast, Operations Manager, said:
We are proud to be able to support individuals from around the world to develop their career in care, nursing or rehabilitation.
We are lucky to enjoy the diversity this brings to our workforce as we learn from each other and celebrate the best of all cultures. The Cultural Day is a wonderful opportunity also for our residents to experience a bit of all the places our staff call home whether that鈥檚 the Philippines, Bulgaria, Thailand, India or anywhere in between.
Askham is also proud to be a sponsor for overseas workers and to share and embrace a multitude of different beliefs and cultures. Their ethos emphasises inclusivity of community and respect being a key part of their practice and projected into how everyone is celebrated.
Well done to Askham on hosting what sounds like a great day of fun and celebration.
